“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” – Carl Gustav Jung
I'm a married, Midwestern guy who has always had a love of language. I began writing early in my childhood though I eventually pivoted to computer languages. I've been embracing the uncertainty of my existence for decades. I have cultivated a resilience from working in the ever changing world of information technology. My experience in this field inspired me to return to the writing craft and publish my first novel.
The majority of my childhood was spent in an enmeshed family shaped by divorce. I've even been divorced once myself out of ignorance of my past. I have since remarried with lessons learned and more to come. My traumas have provided many opportunities to grow through adversity. The fear of committing to another again didn't hold me back. I've prioritized becoming more self-aware rather than letting my reactive autopilot decide how to live every day.
Though my adult daughter lives out of state now, I reach out to her every so often as parents do. Technology continues to make this easier from when I was a child. I also have a feline companion named Reese. She reminds me that life is not all about work but also play.
I choose to lead both my head and heart rather than just follow either independently. My curiosity implores me to study many things and you will find much philosophy, psychology and science in my writings. Failure is my teacher as I hone my skills day by day no matter what I do.
